Birds, Birds, Birds

Lowry Nature Center, Carver Park, Victoria
Saturday, June 3, 2017 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

“The sun is shining and the birds are chirping” -- a more blissful-sounding description of a summer morning may never have been spoken. But do you ever wish you knew more about our flying friends than just that their songs make the morning sun that much better? Join us for “Birds, Birds, Birds,” a free birding event at beautiful Carver Park on Saturday, June 3, to enjoy a summer morning improving your avian IQ.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Carver Park’s Lowry Nature Center in Victoria and will feature birding experts from Three Rivers Park District. There will be guided birdwatching hikes, live raptors, identifying birdsongs, a birdfeeder craft activity, and more.

”Birds, Birds, Birds” is part of “Jump In & Make a Splash!” - a series of community events across the watershed celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. The series concludes with the Sunset Celebration on Thursday, November 2 at St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church in Minneapolis, featuring live music, food and drink. Tickets are $40. People who attend at least five events qualify for half-price admission and those who attend all nine events get in for free!

The event is sponsored by MCWD and Three Rivers Park District in partnership with Target, Freshwater Society, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, Berne Scale, REI, Wilderness Inquiry and Tonka Bay Marina.
